We are introducing the new app Autostarter:
Do you use macOS 13 Ventura and you miss the feature to automatically launch applications with hidden windows when you log in? Do you like the hidden option to be as reliable as it has been in the good old Mac OS X 10.6? In this case, Autostarter will be the right app for you. It brings back the "autostart hidden" feature and is as easy to use as the Login Items in System Settings, but offers more features, e.g. exporting items to other users or to other Macs.
Autostarter is available via Apple in the Mac App Store.

Apple releases software via macOS Software Update:
- Allow List for Macintosh firmware security checks (“EFI Check”), version 133 (Update Product ID: 012-84613)
Security-related packages do not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Apple XProtect Payloads version 84 (Update Product ID: 032-01892)
- Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 2165 for OS X 10.11 to macOS 10.14 (Update Product ID: 012-92413)
- Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 2165 for macOS Catalina (Update Product ID: 012-92414)
XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- macOS 13.0.1 Ventura
- macOS 13.0.1 Ventura Update for macOS 10.12 and later (Update Product ID: 012-93766)
- BridgeOS Customer Update 13.0.1 (Update Product ID: 012-93797)
The updates address product defects and security issues, in particular a critical security problem with the XML 2 Library.
