Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Apple XProtect Payloads version 83 (Update Product ID: 012-92415)
- Apple Pro Video Formats version 2.2.4 (Update Product ID: 012-93635)
Security-related packages do not appear in the Software Update section of System Settings.
The Pro Video Formats package provides support for the following codecs that are used in professional video workflows: Apple ProRes RAW and ProRes RAW HQ*, Apple Intermediate Codec, Avid DNxHD® / DNxHR® decoder, AVC-Intra 50 / 100 / 200 / 4:4:4 / LT, AVC-LongG, XAVC, XF-AVC, XF-HEVC, DVCPRO HD, HDV, XDCAM EX / HD / HD422, MPEG IMX, Uncompressed 4:2:2
A Macintosh with support for "Metal" graphics is required.
We are releasing TinkerTool System 7 version 7.92:
- Added better user guidance when running the application with macOS 13 Ventura.
TinkerTool System 7 is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers running macOS 11 or 12.
We are releasing TinkerTool System 8 version 8.0:
- Added full support for macOS 13 Ventura. TinkerTool System 8 can only be used with macOS 13 or later. It allows the integration of TinkerTool 9.
- The application uses a completely new user interface, based on the style specifications for the program “System Settings”. This also includes searching for features by keyword.
- The application window can now be resized. When showing tables with many columns, previous additional functions to “show in separate window” are no longer necessary.
- A new button has been added to optimize the currently shown pane in size, automatically selecting the smallest possible size to control all user interface objects.
- The auxiliary program for privileged operations now uses the latest Ventura technologies. It is no longer necessary to install it upon first start, it only needs an approval to run.
- If you integrate TinkerTool into TinkerTool System, its panes will also become accessible by keyword search.
- The feature to scan open network ports had to be removed. The necessary components are no longer available in macOS 13.
- The feature to automatically clear erroneous background services is blocked temporarily. Ventura uses new technologies to control such services, but they are currently not mature enough. It is planned to re-enable this feature later when macOS 13 has reached the necessary level of reliability.
TinkerTool System 8 is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers.
After 47 free updates, the upgrade to TinkerTool System 8 is the first paid upgrade in 4 years. License holders of TinkerTool System 6 or 7 are eligible to receive the upgrade at half the standard price. Users who purchased a license for TinkerTool System 6 or 7 between July 7, 2022 and October 23, 2022 receive a courtesy upgrade for free.

TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.

We are releasing NFS
Manager version 5.6:
- Added full support for macOS 13 Ventura.
- This version shows better responsiveness in situations when the application had contact with an NFS server which was subsequently shut down.
- Fixes a compatibility issue with recent versions of macOS. The feature to remove old versions of the privileged auxiliary tool will now show the correct status information instead of “unknown” on the affected systems.
NFS Manager is an application to control the NFS features built into macOS via a comfortable graphical user interface. The application uses Apple’s technologies like Bonjour or Open Directory to make management as easy as possible. When using directory services, NFS Manager can configure NFS features not only for a single computer but for a whole network of thousands of Macintosh systems, with a few mouse clicks only.

We are releasing PrefEdit
version 5.2:
- Added full support for macOS 13 Ventura.
- The column “Managed” in the property list editor window is now limited in width. This results in a better usability in versions of macOS which don’t restore selected table layouts correctly.
PrefEdit is an application to manage nearly all aspects of the preference system contained in every macOS installation. The program consists of two components which are tightly integrated with each other: (1) An entry point to the preferences database of macOS, with access to all settings which are effective for your user account, (2) a browser and editor for macOS property list files (plists).

Server Control version 2.8:
- Added full support for macOS 13 Ventura.
- Fixes a compatibility issue with recent versions of macOS. The feature to remove old versions of the privileged auxiliary tool will now show the correct status information instead of “unknown” on the affected systems.
Backup Server Control provides a graphical user interface to setup and administer a server for network-based Time Machine® backups with a few mouse clicks on a Macintosh®. Other Macs running macOS Sierra or later can perform backups on the Time Machine server. The current status of network backups can be reviewed any time.

Checker version 3.9:
- Adds full support for macOS 13 Ventura.
- Fixes a compatibility issue with recent versions of macOS. The feature to remove old versions of the privileged auxiliary tool will now show the correct status information instead of “unknown” on the affected systems.
Sync Checker is a diagnostic application which can check if two folders or disks are perfectly synchronized, i.e. if they have exactly the same contents. When creating backup copies of valuable files, or when making sure that two computers or mobile devices work on the same set of data, the status of being “in perfect sync” can be very important. In order to be safe and to prevent loss of data, you can let Sync Checker verify whether a pair of file collections are matching exactly or not.

Power Monitor version 2.0:
- Added full support for macOS Ventura. Mac Power Monitor 2 can only be used with macOS 13 or later.
- The auxiliary program for privileged operations now uses the latest Ventura technologies. It is no longer necessary to install it upon first start, it only needs an approval to run.
- Unfortunately, Apple removed the power metrics features for interrupt source statistics, as well as for hardware bandwidth measurement, DRAM power and total SoC power on Macs with Apple Silicon from the operating system. The corresponding parts of Mac Power Monitor had to be disabled.
Mac Power Monitor is a graphical, easy-to-use interface for the energy and power measuring features of macOS.

operating systems macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey:
- This version recommends an upgrade to TinkerTool 9 when running on macOS 13 Ventura.
- Fixes a problem with the latest versions of macOS, where incorrect icons could be shown for user guidance if TinkerTool had no privacy permission to access Safari settings.

We are releasing TinkerTool System 7 version 7.91:
- The error handling for the Ethernet firmware check (on Intel Macs) has been redesigned for clearer messages in specific situations.
- This versions fixes a problem where the time interval assistant for accessing the unified logs could set the last wake-up time instead of the system startup time under certain circumstances.
