Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Apple XProtect Payloads version 75 (Update Product ID: 012-73870)
XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.
September 20, 2022:
Apple will increase App Store prices for some regions by
about 20%
Apple has announced to increase prices in the App Store as of October 5, 2022. This will affect prices of apps and in-app purchases in all Euro currency territories, as well as in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, and Vietnam. Prices of auto-renewable subscriptions are excluded and will not change automatically.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- macOS 12.6 Monterey
- macOS 12.6 Monterey Update for macOS Mojave and Catalina (Update Product ID: 012-40494)
- BridgeOS Customer Update 12.6 (Update Product ID: 012-40525)
- macOS Big Sur 11.7 (Update Product ID: 012-38280)
- Safari 16.0 for macOS Big Sur (Update Product ID: 012-49080)
The updates address product defects and security issues. Please note that Apple is no longer supporting macOS 10.15 Catalina with security or Safari updates.
Safari 16 introduces new features, even faster performance, and improved security, such as:
- Tab Group start pages let you add different background images and favorites for each Tab Group
- Pinned tabs in Tab Groups enable you to pin frequently visited websites for each Tab Group
- Tabs in the sidebar let you see a list view of your open tabs
- Settings you’ve set for specific websites now sync across devices
- Strong password editing lets you adjust strong passwords to meet website-specific requirements

We are releasing System
Monitor version 5.6 through the Mac App Store:
- The automatic switching between normal operation of the user
interface with windows and reduced operation in the menu bar
will now work more consistently if multiple windows or special
auxiliary windows are open.
- For specific Mac model series with Apple Silicon, an
additional reading for total internal electric power can be
added to the list of sensors. This feature requires the free
add-on System Monitor Plus version 1.3 or later.
- Sensor access will no longer be generally rejected for Mac
model series released in 2022.
- The code base was modernized to prepare for future operating
system versions.
System Monitor is an application for the menu bar of macOS, designed to inform you unobtrusively about the activity of your computer. A Trial Version is available as free download.

Monitor Plus version 1.3:
- Added preliminary temperature sensor support for the MacBook Pro (M2, 2022) and MacBook Air (M2, 2022).
- Added new feature to provide sensor information for total internal electrical power.
System Monitor Plus is a free add-on for System Monitor. After simply copying it to your computer, many additional features become available which are not permitted to be directly included in Apps from the Mac App Store.

We are releasing Battery
Monitor version 4.8 through the Mac App Store:
- In addition to the Touch Bar controls, the battery capacity log can now also opened directly in graph mode via the main menu, context menu, or via keyboard shortcuts.
- The wording of the “last full charge cycle” indicator in the long-term overview window was modified to avoid misunderstandings.
- The code base was modernized to prepare for future operating system versions.
Battery Monitor is a powerful App to display the charge state of portable Macs in the Dock, to display internal battery information, to capture charge and discharge curves, to keep logs of the aging process of the battery, and to add notifications via Notification Center or speech output.
