Apple re-releases new software via macOS Software
Update:

The reason of the re-release are not documented. The
updates address critical security issues.

We are re-releasing NFS
Manager version 5.9:
- Added support for alternative preview versions of upcoming operating systems. Users of Intel-based Macs or users who don’t test beta operating systems won’t need this specific build.
NFS Manager is an application to control the NFS features built into macOS via a comfortable graphical user interface. The application uses Apple’s technologies like Bonjour or Open Directory to make management as easy as possible. When using directory services, NFS Manager can configure NFS features not only for a single computer but for a whole network of thousands of Macintosh systems, with a few mouse clicks only.

version 9.8:
- Added support for alternative preview versions of upcoming operating systems. Users of Intel-based Macs or users who don’t test beta operating systems won’t need this specific build.
TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.

We are releasing TinkerTool System
8 version 8.95:
- Added support for alternative preview versions of upcoming operating systems.
- Added new feature to add color tags to file system objects stored on network servers (see Issues > Tags). This can be used as workaround for defective versions of the macOS Finder which can no longer do this.
- When showing undocumented Spotlight attributes for files, TinkerTool System will now handle cases where Spotlight has intentionally stored invalid date and time values more transparently.
TinkerTool System 8 is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers.

The updates address critical security issues in the
operating systems and Safari web browsers.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Apple SafeView version 10.2 (Update Product ID: 052-40030)
The following changes and notes have been documented:
- SafeView 10.2.0 simplifies the user interface and provides visual indicators in Shared Settings to highlight changes to device settings.
- “Customer Wi-Fi Required” label removed from user interface window
- General bug fixes
- Fixed contributing factors that caused an error about not being on an active session
- Temporarily disabled full-screen mode during active SafeView sessions
- Disabled privacy masking for iOS passcode
- Visual indicator highlighting changes made to a customer’s device settings
SafeView is an internal utility that macOS customers can use to share their screens via Internet with service representatives from Apple or AppleCare. It allows remote access for support purposes. This software is not available to the general public.

- Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 5270 for OS X 10.11 to macOS 10.14 (Update Product ID: 062-41945)
- Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 5270 for macOS Catalina (Update Product ID: 062-33001)
- Apple XProtect Payloads version 140 (Update Product ID: 062-33001)
XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

We are releasing Autostarter
version 1.9 through the Mac App Store:
- Added necessary changes to ensure that the App remains compatible with future versions of the Mac App Store.
- The storage size needed for the program has been greatly reduced.
- Minor changes.
Autostarter is a small app that makes it possible to launch applications automatically during login without letting the applications show windows, even with macOS Ventura or later.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Allow List for Macintosh firmware security checks
(“EFI Check”), version 149 (Update Product ID:
062-07548)
The EFI Check component allows Macs with Intel
processors to search for malware in their built-in
firmware. New checksums for updates that will come with
future operating systems have been published. This
ensures that users with multiple operating systems don't
receive misleading warning messages about potentially
manipulated firmware. macOS is updating the software
silently in the background if you have granted the
system permission to download system data files and
security-related files.
July 15, 2024:
We are releasing TinkerTool System
8 version 8.94:
- Added new feature to disable the indicators for caps lock and dictation next to the text caret (see System Miscellaneous settings, macOS Sonoma and later only)
- Added new feature to disable the Emoji suggestion assistant next to the text caret (macOS Sonoma and later only)
- Added new features to describe more undocumented Spotlight attributes when analyzing the contents of files. More than 20 attributes have been added (see File Contents pane).
- Added new features to describe more Sandbox exceptions when analyzing the security of applications. More than 80 entitlement entries have been added (see Applications Security Check).
- Added the detection of new types of temporary files when checking and cleaning preference settings (User pane). This also affects TinkerTool System for Recovery Mode.
- The entry to assess whether an application was licensed via the App Store was removed from the Applications Security Check pane. Due to changes in the App Store, a reliable analysis is no longer possible.
- The policy not to allow the removal of Apps purchased from the App Store via the Uninstallation Assistant is no longer in effect.

We are releasing JPEG Photo
File Date version 1.2 through the App Store:
- Added new feature to automatically adjust the modification date or creation date of any folder based on its contents.
- The App now automatically disables sleep mode while very long operations for JPEG files are running.
- Added necessary changes to ensure that the App remains compatible with future versions of the Mac App Store.
JPEG Photo File Date comes to help when you have lost the file creation or modification times of JPEG photo files: It can read the metadata of a JPEG photo file when the picture was taken and fix the file settings for “date created” or “date last modified” accordingly. Even large amounts of pictures, such as a folder hierarchy with several tens of thousands of photos, can be processed quickly without any problems.
July 10, 2024:
We are releasing Battery Monitor
version 5.2 through the Mac App Store:
- This version suppresses unnecessary checks performed by the App Store that could occur when starting the App, including the associated windows and possible delays. This could have affected users who restart their login sessions unusually often or switch between multiple operating systems on a single computer.
Battery Monitor is a powerful App to display the charge state of portable Macs in the Dock, to display internal battery information, to capture charge and discharge curves, to keep logs of the aging process of the battery, and to add notifications via Notification Center or speech output.

- The main overview window of the application can now be resized.
- Added necessary changes to ensure that the App remains compatible with future versions of the Mac App Store.
- Legacy code has been removed. The minimum operating system version is now macOS 13.
