Autostarter

January 26, 2023:
We are releasing Autostarter version 1.1 through the Mac App Store:

  • Added a new feature to automatically repair settings when macOS has lost user acknowledgement for background items if the app was renamed or moved.
  • In cases where an auto-starting application has been deleted, Autostarter now suppresses confusing error messages of the Finder.
  • An additional Dock tile which may be shown after login depending on the user’s Dock settings is now suppressed.
  • Added internal diagnostic features.
  • Clearer indication in user interface and reference manual which applications can be supported.
  • A cryptographic security feature was removed to ensure the App can be imported to France.

Autostarter is a small app that makes it possible to launch applications automatically during login without letting the applications show windows, even with macOS Ventura or later.

TinkerTool
                System 8

January 24, 2023:
We are releasing TinkerTool System 8 version 8.2:

  • Added new feature to download IPSW files from Apple. IPSW files can be used to perform a full restore with factory reset in DFU mode on Macs with Apple Silicon.
  • Added new feature to clear the message index database of Apple Mail. This is helpful to resolve issues when searching for email messages no longer works correctly and produces incomplete results.
  • The currently selected Time Machine backup time interval and encryption mode are no shown on the Time Machine pane.
  • The user interface for the Flash Drive status has been redesigned. This allows the Diagnostics pane to be shown with reduced height and resolves issues where some controls were difficult to access on small screens.
  • Fixed a layout problem on the pane “User > Repair Defective Settings” for cases where the pane was resized to its minimum.
  • Internal changes for features with Internet access, enhancing compatibility with third-party firewalls.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

  • macOS 13.2 Ventura
  • macOS 13.2 Ventura Update for macOS 10.12 and later (Update Product ID: 032-35706)
  • macOS 11.7.3 Big Sur (Update Product ID: 032-33756)
  • macOS 12.6.3 Monterey (Update Product ID: 032-33828)
  • BridgeOS Customer Update 13.2 (Update Product ID: 032-33828)
  • Safari 16.3 for macOS Big Sur (Update Product ID: 032-13764)

The updates address many product defects that affected macOS 13.1, as well as a high number of critical security issues in Safari and the other operating system versions.

January 19, 2023:
Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

  • Apple XProtect Payloads version 87 (Update Product ID: 032-34110)

XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

  • Apple Mobile Device Update (Update Product ID: 032-06683)

The update provides support and icons for new Apple devices released in January 2023.

System Monitor

January 12, 2023:
We are releasing System Monitor version 5.7 through the Mac App Store:

  • Added new feature to choose which of the disk volumes that are selected for monitoring should be included in the total sum shown in the menu bar.
  • Added new feature to select between predefined colors to show secondary items in the menu bar, e.g. the load of efficiency CPU cores or the second value in two-value graphs.
  • The layout of the configuration window was optimized. It now has a larger minimum height.
  • Disk volumes and APFS snapshots that are assumed to be temporarily connected to the computer only are now immediately removed from the configuration table for storage monitoring instead of marking them offline.
  • More network interfaces for which macOS does not provide meaningful designations are now presented with readable names.
  • The strategy to search for copies of System Monitor Plus has been optimized.

System Monitor is an application for the menu bar of macOS, designed to inform you unobtrusively about the activity of your computer. A Trial Version is available as free download.

January 10, 2023:
Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

  • Apple SafeView version 9.6 (Update Product ID: 012-55194)

The new version enables Lockdown Mode detection and provides updated access to resources in SafeView Health. The update improves privacy masking performance and integrates data with case notes for screen sharing, and enables a quick link in Shared Settings to OS Visualizer resources.

SafeView is an internal utility that macOS customers can use to share their screens via Internet with service representatives from Apple or AppleCare. It allows remote access for support purposes. This software is not available to the general public.

TinkerTool 8

January 5, 2023:
We are releasing TinkerTool version 9.12:

  • Fixes a minor issue where commas could not always be entered into the date and time format fields.
  • Fixes a minor issue where literal characters at the end of date and time formats were not always shown in the user interface.

TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.
