Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

The updates address product defects and very critical security issues.

Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- Apple Malware Removal Tool (MRT) version 1.86 (Update Product ID: 002-43944)
- Apple Malware Removal Tool (MRT), for macOS Mojave, version 1.86 (Update Product ID: 002-43945)
- Safari Technology Preview version 138 (Update Product ID: 002-53461)
MRT is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.
The update to Safari Technology Preview includes the latest WebKit enhancements.
January 14, 2022:
Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:
- macOS Installer Notification 2.0 (Update Product ID: 002-39969)
This software adds more notifications to old versions of macOS, suggesting an upgrade to a current version.
Security-related packages do not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files
We are releasing TinkerTool System 7 version 7.8:
- Added new feature to retrieve new log types from macOS that contain diagnostic reports about in-application incidents.
- Added new time interval assistant to the user interface to retrieve modern macOS logs.
- Added new filter feature that allows to hide lines in the generated text of modern macOS logs in hindsight. The user can focus on messages containing a specific key word.
- Added new tab to the product records info window for some Apple Silicon machines to display technical data about internal power supply units. This feature is only available on specific Macintosh model series.
- The feature to create macOS install media now informs the user in detail if the creation fails due to an intended limitation of a specific installer that might block the operation when it detects a cross-architecture situation (e.g. creating an Intel-only installer on an Apple Silicon Mac).
- The preselection of objects to be deleted is now more consistent across all types of software when using the Uninstallation Assistant for applications.

January 7, 2022:
We are releasing Battery Monitor version 4.3 through the Mac App Store:
- Added new feature to show a history graph for battery temperature.
- The layout of the main overview window was optimized. This avoids clipped data fields in some language versions.
- Virtual battery units, used by some desktop computers with Apple Silicon, are no longer shown as an actual battery.
Battery Monitor is a powerful App to display the charge state of portable Macs in the Dock, to display internal battery information, to capture charge and discharge curves, to keep logs of the aging process of the battery, and to add notifications via Notification Center or speech output.

The new package for the San Francisco system font features 15 new symbols including AirPods (3rd generation) and Beats Fit Pro, fixes for template generation and other bug fixes.
