We are releasing TinkerTool System 6 version 6.81:

• Added support for macOS 10.15.1.
• Added new feature to save the report on startup jobs into an RTF text file.
• Added new feature to download selected macOS installer apps provided by Apple without using the App Store (macOS Catalina only).
• Added new feature to suppress update notifications regarding macOS Catalina and the associated Dock reminder marker (macOS Mojave only).
• Added new feature to change the user account security policy for Remote Apple Events (macOS Catalina only).
• The feature to clear and refresh the driver (kernel extension) cache was reinstated for macOS Catalina.

BridgeOS is the secondary hardware management operating system running on the Apple T2 processors of selected Macintosh model series. XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

October 28, 2019:

Safari 13.0.3 contains important security fixes. Apple did not disclose the true contents or the associated CVE entries of the related security aspects yet. It can be assumed that the publication of this information will be postponed until after the release of macOS 10.15.1 Catalina.

October 24, 2019:

• Security Update 2019-005 for macOS 10.13. High Sierra (Update Product ID: 061-41798)

This update addresses CVE-2019-8641, "a remote attacker may be able to cause unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution". The update is recommended for all users and improves the security of macOS.

We like to remind users who store archived copies of older Apple installers for Mac OS X, OS X, or macOS, or copies of older Apple software update packages (pkg bundles or DMG files containing pkg bundles) that this software will expire on October 24, 2019, 5:29:17 p.m. UTC. This includes recovery systems that have been created as "macOS Installer Media" on pen drives. Depending on situation, the software will still work if you modify the date setting on your Mac, or if you confirm to the Apple installer that you are prepared to install software with outdated security certificates.

If this does not work, you will need to download updated copies of the software from Apple.

Users that are mirroring such packages using the Software Update Server feature of macOS Server 5.3.1 or earlier, or third-party alternatives, like Reposado, are not affected.

We are releasing PrefEdit version 4.3:

• Added full support for macOS 10.15 Catalina.
• Legacy technology has been removed from the App. The new minimum operating system is macOS 10.12 Sierra.
• The user interface to copy a preference setting from the effective search path to an application-specific scope has been redesigned, offering more guidance to unexperienced users.

PrefEdit is an application to manage nearly all aspects of the preference system contained in every macOS installation. The program consists of two components which are tightly integrated with each other: (1) An entry point to the preferences database of macOS, with access to all settings which are effective for your user account, (2) a browser and editor for macOS property list files (plists).

SafeView is an internal utility that macOS customers can use to share their screens via Internet with service representatives from Apple or AppleCare. It allows remote access for support purposes. This software is not available to the general public.

October 17, 2019:
We are releasing Battery Monitor version 3.3 through the Mac App Store:

• This version adds full support for macOS 10.15 Catalina.
• Legacy technology has been removed from the App. The minimum required OS version is now 10.11.
• Added new option to activate nagging, repeating reminder warnings when the charge level drops below a specified value. The threshold can be set between 5% and 20%.
• The preferences tab to define notifications employs improved user guidance.

Battery Monitor is a powerful App to display the charge state of portable Macs in the Dock, to display internal battery information, to capture charge and discharge curves, to keep logs of the aging process of the battery, and to add notifications via Notification Center or speech output.

October 17, 2019:
We are releasing TinkerTool version 7.42:

• The documentation could be updated for macOS 10.15 Catalina because its news embargo is no longer active.
• The Portuguese user interface has been reviewed for terminology changes in macOS 10.15.

TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.

We are releasing System Monitor version 2.6 through the Mac App Store:

• This version adds full support for macOS 10.15 Catalina.
• Legacy technology has been removed from the App. The minimum required OS version is now 10.11.
• As side effect of adding support for Catalina, System Monitor now strictly follows the guideline not to monitor hidden storage volumes. This avoids confusion with the swap space volume, local Time Machine snapshots, App Translocation volumes, or the data part of the Catalina system volume. When choosing volumes for monitoring free storage space, the App uses enhanced user guidance to present the relationship between physical disks, APFS containers, APFS volume groups, and APFS volumes.

System Monitor is an application for the menu bar of macOS, designed to inform you unobtrusively about the activity of your computer.

We are releasing Sync Checker version 3.3:

• This version adds full support for macOS 10.15 Catalina.
  

Sync Checker is a diagnostic application which can check if two folders or disks are perfectly synchronized, i.e. if they have exactly the same contents. When creating backup copies of valuable files, or when making sure that two computers or mobile devices work on the same set of data, the status of being “in perfect sync” can be very important. In order to be safe and to prevent loss of data, you can let Sync Checker verify whether a pair of file collections are matching exactly or not.

Gatekeeper is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

• This version adds support for macOS 10.15 Catalina.

Backup Server Control provides a graphical user interface to setup and administer a server for network-based Time Machine® backups with a few mouse clicks on a Macintosh®. Other Macs running macOS Sierra or later can perform backups on the Time Machine server. The current status of network backups can be reviewed any time.

• This version adds support for expected changes in future versions of macOS.
  

NFS Manager is an application to control the NFS features built into macOS via a comfortable graphical user interface. The application uses Apple’s technologies like Bonjour or Open Directory to make management as easy as possible. When using directory services, NFS Manager can configure NFS features not only for a single computer but for a whole network of thousands of Macintosh systems, with a few mouse clicks only.

MRT and XProtect are part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The packages do not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.
