The Pane Portables

The pane Portables is only visible if you are using TinkerTool System on a portable Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS 15.3 or higher. On older Mac laptops with Intel processors, please use the preceding chapter The Pane “Always On” Mobiles instead.

Automatic Power-On

Modern portable Macs no longer require a power button. These devices are designed to remain powered on at all times. If they happen to be shut down or turned off, they will automatically restart and turn on again when either the display lid is opened or an external power source is connected.

In some situations, this behavior may not be desirable, for instance, if you want to clean your computer. TinkerTool System provides the option to modify the startup behavior with a simple mouse click.

The device will also turn on if any key is pressed. This behavior cannot be disabled.
